Trigger Point Therapy– the treatment of hyperirritable spots within taut bands of muscle or in muscle fascia.

Myofascial Release – therapeutic stretching and loosening of tight fascial layers surrounding muscle and functional groups.

Deep Tissue Massage – the use of active/passive engagement to alter structural and muscular restrictions, and to relax and release protective and otherwise dysfunctional holding patterns.

Myofascial Dry Needling – the use of a solid, filament needle to disperse acutely contracted regions in the muscle and deactivate trigger points (small contracting “knots” in the muscle).

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (and variations such as Muscle Energy Technique and Post Isometric Relaxation – a combination of passive stretching and isometric contractions.

Musculotendinous Release – the stretching and softening of muscles and their attachment sites.

Cross Fibre Friction – transverse friction that involves moving a specific segment of tissue against the underlying structure.

Sports Massage – specifically pre-event, inter-event and post-event massage.
