Proprietor Bernd Adolph established the Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic, WA’s first and foremost sports-dedicated, soft-tissue therapy establishment, in 1991. He qualified in Physiotherapy and “Medical Massage” in Stuttgart, Germany, in the 1980s and has since travelled as a soft-tissue therapist to four Olympic Games and four Commonwealth Games. His deep interest in elite sport was galvanised in the early 1990s when he was invited on extended competition and training tours to North America and Europe with the Australian Road Cycling Team. He has since forged a close working relationship with both Australian Cricket (he toured with the team to the UK in 2010) and with Australian Swimming, treating some of the world’s top swimmers since 1996. The Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic consistently attracts Australia’s best soft-tissue therapists.

Jaye Thomas is one of our most experienced Senior Therapists and has been part of the team at Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic since 1999. Trained in Perth, she has travelled to national and international competition with elite swimmers from the WA Institute of Sport (WAIS) and to World Swimming Championships. She also works closely with WAIS gymnasts and has specialist expertise in myofascial treatments, dry needling and cupping.

Natasha Brock is one of our most experienced Senior Therapists and has been at Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic since 2004 and works mainly at Subiaco. Trained in the USA, she is lead therapist for WAIS Women’s Gymnastics and Diving. Natasha has travelled to national and international competition with Swimming and Gymnastics and her specialist expertise includes dry needling, myofascial treatments, sports and deep tissue therapies. She also assists Bernd in treating the Australian Cricket Team when they are in Perth.

Trevor Wilmot is one of our most experienced Senior Therapists who has worked at the Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic since 2004. He worked closely with the Western Warriors in 2008 and has special interest in Australian Rules football, cricket, surfing, kickboxing and basketball. He has specialist expertise in myofascial therapy, trigger-point, dry needling, cupping and deep-tissue therapy and in soft-tissue problems associated with the hip/pelvis and rotator cuff (shoulder).

Emma Egan has a Diploma in Sports Science and a Diploma of Sports Therapy. She trained in Dublin and gained her qualifications in 2001. She has been working as a Sports Therapist since. Emma has worked at Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic since 2009. She is a therapist with the Emirates Western Force, worked with travelling international and interstate Rugby Union teams, including the English Rugby team. Other teams include, cricket teams such as the South Australia Red Backs, NSW Blues and the Hockey Roos. Emma’s training includes, dry needling, sports massage deep tissue massage, pregnancy massage and trigger point.

Mandy Burness completed her training in London and has a three-year Honours degree in Sports Therapy. Training in remedial and sports massage joined Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic in 2009. She is involved in the clinic with the WAIS Gymnastics and Diving programs and is a therapist for the Emirates Western Force. Mandy’s training includes, dry needling, sports massage deep tissue massage and trigger point.

Paul Ashburne is a Senior Therapist and Qualified massage therapist. He has a leading role in treating the Emirates Western Force players and has worked with visiting teams including the Canterbury Crusaders, Queensland Reds and Melbourne Rebels. He also has worked with players from the Perth Glory men and women soccer, West Coast Fever Netball, iron men and women competitors. Paul’s training also includes dry needling, cupping, myofascial release, deep tissue and trigger point massage.

James Cochrane has a Diploma of Remedial Massage from Wodonga TAFE and works at both the Subiaco and South Perth clinics and has since February 2010. He has experience with club and international Union, League and soccer teams, and is a therapist for the Perth Glory 2010/2011 season. James’ training includes, dry needling, sports massage deep tissue massage and trigger point.

Andreas Olbrich is a Senior Therapist who has worked since 2008 at the Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic. He graduated in Sports Massage in 2007 and specialises in sports injuries, muscle aches and pains, and also exercise rehabilitation, using massage and dry needling. Andreas has experience working with Olympic athletes.

Nichola Starkey is a Senior Therapist and a quailified Myotherapist. She completed her studies in Melbourne whilst running her own Remedial Massage business before returning to Perth in 2010. Her treatments focus on a large variety of conditions relating to musculoskeletal dysfunction, injury prevention and rehabilition requirements. Nichola specialises in dry needling, manual lymphatic drainage, cupping, trigger point and manipulative therapies. Nichola has treated conditions from autoimmune disorders to headaches as well as athleles in sports from triathlons to AFL.

Fiona Green received her Diploma in Remedial Massage from TAFE Mt Lawley, working her prac hours on National Basketball League Champions the Perth Wildcats. She has been with the Clinic since 2009, working in the St George Rugby League and the State Netball Team, the Perth Fever. Specialties include dry needling, trigger point treatments, deep tissue remedial massage and the lower leg area.

Jeremy McClure has been with Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic since 2007. He received his Diploma Of Sports Massage from Mt Lawley Tafe. He competed at 2004/2008 Paralympics as a blind swimmer. He worked alongside the 2010 / 2011 Perth Glory Team. He has also treated the Hockeyroos, tri-athletes, enjoys treating swimmers, athletes or any client with broad range of conditions.

Christy Scoullar completed the diploma of Remedial Massage at Gordon Institute of TAFE Victoria. Worked at Geelong Football Club 2008/2009. Christy has training in deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point, dry needling and myofascial therapies. Special interests include headache releif and sports related injuries.

Rebecca Welch completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy at Endeavour College of Natural Health. Worked at other clinics in Perth before joinging Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic in April 2011. Rebecca has training in deep tissue massage, sports massage, trigger point, dry needling, pregnancy and myofascial therapists. Her interests include treatments for headache relief, lower back pain and working with a diverse range of clientele.

Jesse Jacobs is a remedial massage therapist who completed his studies in the Netherlands and at the Australian College of Sports Therapy in Melbourne. Jesse moved to Perth in 2010 and shortly thereafter joined Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic in January 2011. Jesse has more than 12 years experience as a professional dancer and extensive experience as a remedial massage therapist working in the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. He is currently the massage therapist for the West Australian Ballet assisting in the treatment of injuries, rehabilitation and injury prevention. Jesse has training is deep tissue, trigger point and myofacial techniques as well as a certificate in Kinesiology taping.

Petra Jost graduated as a physiotherapist in Switzerland and has experience in the musculoskeletal field, orthopaedic post-surgery trauma, sports, myofascial, and deep-tissue therapies. She has post- graduate experience in dry needling, manual therapy, and trigger-point therapy as well as expertise in kinesio tapings. Petra is experienced in treating a range of sports injuries including those associated with hockey and triathlon. She has been with the Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic since January 2009 and works at the Subiaco clinic only.

Rannel Mendoza completed Diploma of Remedial Massage in June 2010, Diploma of Reflexology and Cert IV Aromatherapy in December 2009 at Challenger Institute of Technology Beaconsfield. Experienced physiotherapist in the Philippines and physio assistant in Australia. Gained experienced with other sports massage clinics in Perth before joining Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic in May 2011. Specialises on designing management for specific injuries/conditions.

Vickie Furk qualified with honours in Sports Therapy from London Metropolitan University in 2005. She ran a sports injury business in the UK for 3 years before joining Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic in 2008. Trained in rehab of sports injuries specialising in soft tissue manipulation sports massage, deep tissue, trigger point and relaxation. She has a special interest in rehabilition of sports injuries associated with running and triathalon, as well as shoulder injuries. Previous clients include Olympic sailors from Hong Kong, Canada, USA, Netherlands and New Zealand; Rugby Union and League Teams, West Coast Fever Netball and the English Beach Volleyball circuit team.

Loryn Turnock is currently studying her 4 year Honours Degree Course in Sports Therapy in the UK. She has completed 2 years and has recently started a years work placement at Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic. She has previous experiences in working with an American Football team, local schools in the sports therapy clinic and she attended the City To Surf with our therapists and provided massages to the participants. She has swam for Zimbabwe at an International level in 2001/2003. Subiaco Sports Massage Clinic is training her in Sports Massage, Dry Needling, trigger point and myofascial therapies. Loryn has special interest in injuries associated with rugby, swimming, hockey, American Football and tennis.

Carolin Seidel graduated as a Physiotherapist in Germany in 2006 and underwent further specialisation training in Sports Physiotherapy as well as Kinesio taping and she is a certified Pilates instructor. During her time at the Olympic training camp in Saarbruecken (Germany), a rehabilitation clinic for patients with sports injuries, accident related injuries and for health management, she had the opportunity to work closely with the members of the International Badminton Federation, triathlon and swim teams. Since 2008, Carolin has been the team physiotherapist for the German National Rowing Team and participated as a physiotherapist in the 2008 Olympic Rowing Qualification procedures in Posznan and at the 2011 World Rowing Championship in Slovenia. Carolin is experienced in sports therapy, accupressure, myofascial therapy, trigger point therapy, deep tissue and relaxation massage.

Melissa Stevenson has worked as a Sports Therapist for 3 years since gaining an Advanced Diploma in Sports Therapy in the UK. Originally from Newcastle, UK she has previously worked in Glasgow, Verbier and Switzerland. She has experience of treating a wide variety of injuries and specialises in sports and deep tissue massage. She has a broad range of previous clientele including skiers and international footballers.
